Happy Feast Day of such an incredible Saint! We owe much of what we know about our faith to St Thomas Aquinas, a philsopher, theologian and doctor of our Church. His works are not always an easy read, but they are so important, case in point the 'five ways' or 'proofs' that explain the very existence of God!
When Christ asked St Thomas Aquinas, “You have written well of me, Thomas. What would you have as your reward?", he answered "Nothing if not You, Lord".
Not only is St Thomas Aquinas a teacher about Our Lord, but a witness of great love and total surrender to Our Lord. St Thomas understood what it was to be a disciple, to not desire things of this world but the only thing true and good: God. When asked for anything, he asked for nothing but God. As Catholics we know this is the greatest reward and source of our joy. For God is love.
