Celebrating our Volunteers

On the 27 / 28 May we celebrated our wonderful volunteers at weekend masses.
Volunteers were given a Parish renewable bag and a special card which included messages from some volunteers about what volunteering meant to them.
Thanks to Jane and Srs Brigid, Karen and Emily for providing and supporting a special supper after 6.00pm mass and morning tea after 9.00am and 11.00am masses.

The recent celebration for volunteers raises interesting questions about community engagement. The emphasis on personal messages and shared experiences fosters a sense of belonging. However, it remains to be seen how such events translate into sustained motivation for ongoing service.
