Update from our Bishops

An important message from our Archdiocese: https://www.cam.org.au/Guidance-for-Parishes-COVID-19

Our parish will be live streaming Sunday mass from our website where you can still celebrate the mass through spiritual communion. A Special thanks to Adrian for organising our Parish Mass to be streamed online!! Jump onto our website this Sunday: shscparish.org

Our church doors will still be open for prayer where you can visit the Eucharist and pray. Daily mass is also available online: http://www.catholictv.org/masses/catholictv-mass

Do not despair, even in ordinary times Saints made frequent spiritual communion when they were unable to attend mass. “What a source of grace there is in spiritual communion! Practice it frequently and you’ll have greater presence of God and closer union with him in all your actions.” St Josemaria Escriva.

This is the prayer for spiritual communion: My Jesus, I believe that You are in the Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I long for You in my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. As though You have already come, I embrace You and unite myself entirely to You; never permit me to be separated from You.

I encourage you to please stay updated via our Facebook page, website and blog for continued faith formation, parish updates and prayers.

Remember "surely, I am with you always, until the end of time" Matthew 28:20. It's time to pull those rosaries out of the drawer and pray to Our Lady to protect and guide our Mother Church. May we act as Christians during this time, caring for the most vulnerable, filled with the wisdom and peace of the Holy Spirit and holding the hope and trust of Jesus Christ in our hearts.

I would like to leave you with a video on how catholics should respond to the situation - take what you will from it but I urge you to keep praying:

God be with you my brothers and sisters.
